Back at the end of October last year I had the opportunity to go to Poland for work for three weeks. Leading up to this trip I had been interested in and researching feverishly medium format photography. I've never really had any experience in shooting film, maybe some point and shoot rolls when I was young but certainly nothing serious. I decided that I wanted to give it a shot on my upcoming trip and started looking for a camera. Lucky for me I have some friends in the photo business so I asked my friend Jeff Kavanaugh if he new of any one that had a medium format film camera they wanted to get rid of. He said "why don't you ask Heinz", that would be the Heinz Klutenmier, famous sports photographer and all round hell of a nice guy. So I call up Heinz, he asks me what I'm looking for and with in two weeks time a package arrives with a Hasselblad 500c, Zeiss planar 80mm and some accessories. So with this set up I begin my adventure into medium format film and I can't thank Jeff and Heinz enough for getting me set up. These are some of my first shots with the Hasselblad all manual film camera. Most of these shots are from Gdansk Poland. I have tons to learn but I'm totally enjoying the ride so far.
